4 hours later...

i just spent the past few hours working on putting together a weird collage of stuff only to realize that it sucks and i didn't feel like posting it. so then i decided to post a color version of a sketch i did a while back...but i couldn't find it. no clue where it is. i really should organize my image folder better...*sigh*

anyway...here's a quick colored version!

"You're gonna need a bigger boat"

2 notes and you have a villain. Go to www.jawsmovie.com/jsounds/jaws2.wav to hear it if you don't know what I'm talking about. The Jaws theme is probably one of the simplest, but most inspired creations in the history of music, let alone film music. It can instantly warn us of danger by implying the shark's presence even when we can't see it on screen.
I totally love the 1st Jaws movie by the way. It actually came out the summer I was born. We totally arrived in this world at about the same time (which might explain some things about me but that's a different story). It was totally ahead of its time. There are some really funny quotes in it as well as being a good action/horror movie. Stuff like:

Quint: "Here lies the body of Mary Lee ... died at the age of 103 ... for 15 years she kept her virginity ... not a bad record for this vicinity"

Hooper: "Uh ... I think that I'm familiar with the fact that you are going to ignore this problem until it swims up and bites you in the ass"

Quint again: "You go inside the cage, cage goes in the water, you go in the water, shark's in the water ... our shark"

and of course Brody said the line in the title of this blog. Anyway... I saw this pic on the I CAN HAS CHEEZEBURGER website and when I was done laughing until I peed a little, I thought I would share it. Enjoy!

Sunday Nights

Sunday nights I have been going to Pacific Rim Brewery in White Center. They have great beer and a bunch of great guys get together and jam. I come for both. And Matt always tries to squeeze in his version of Lyle Lovett's Election Day for me. I did this scratch board drawing of one of the guys (Brian) who plays bass. I really should bring my camera sometime and take pictures of the rest of them so I can do some more of these.

They were in an interesting mood tonight and bouncing band names around. Gravy and the Biscuit Rollers. The Middle Men (they have issues starting and stopping sometimes). And something to do with marshmallows that I didn't quite catch. Anyway... it was fun. Thanks guys!

Happy Birthday to Me

I have to say that I had a pretty good birthday weekend. Fairly relaxing. My cousin was here the whole time. Good to see her as always. Chinese food, beer and movies Friday night. Shopping and then went out and got drunk on Saturday night with friends. Sunday recovered at bit, had a good brunch and then went to the Simpson's Movie again. Got some cool presents. Had a lot of birthday wishes from friends and family via cards, phone, texts, email, by myspace and even in person today. And tomorrow I start a new job. ... I'm glad I made it though another year and wish me luck on this 32nd one ... :)

food for thought

We go out and eat teriyaki and this is what I sketch when I get home. It must have been the decor.... :)

Also today was my last day in cubicle-slave land. Yay me!

equal opportunity pirates

so i turn on the tv and cartoon network has a scooby doo movie on and the pirate crew in it sure has a lot of ladies in it...it also has some really bad songs in it that seem to want to rip off the pogues. so bad.

also, i saw a guy wearing a gas mask this evening as i was walking down the street. one of the homeless druggies walking past him and his friends at the same time asked him in a super druggie voice "hey, can i try your gas mask on?" i think he got a weird look from the gas masked guy. i shall dub him "mr. tastyface"...the gas masked guy that is, not the druggie.

on a related note, here is an old drawing of a girl with a gas mask:

...top model barbie? wtf are they teaching girls these days?

Yo Ho Yo Ho

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We pillage plunder, we rifle and loot.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We extort and pilfer, we filch and sack.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
Maraud and embezzle and even highjack.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We kindle and char and in flame and ignite.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
We burn up the city, we're really a fright.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

We're rascals and scoundrels, we're villians and knaves.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
We're devils and black sheep, we're really bad eggs.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

We're beggars and blighters and ne'er do-well cads,
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
Aye, but we're loved by our mommies and dads,
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.

death to all that cross me

Don't you hate when you are just mad at the world and the world just doesn't give a shit. Yeah, me too. Why is it that there is always something or someone that rains on your parade when everything seems to be going so well. Well.... FUCK them I say. I don't care what they think or what they do.... I'm a Pirate and Pirates don't care what people really think about them anyway.

On a lighter note, I saw Stardust last night and it was pretty cool. De Niro was incredible as Captain Shakespeare. Three cheers for Air Pirates.... hip hip Hurrah, hip hip Hurrah, hip hip Arrrrrrrr....

End Log..... Pirate StaySea
